History
In 1980 Carole Boczan opened Merle Norman Cosmetics as a makeup counter in Margles clothing store, downtown Cobourg. In 1986 she moved to her own location at 144 King Street West and with the assistance of her daughters, Suzie, Maureen, Kathy and Rosey she expanded into aesthetic and hair salon services, thus The Beauty Clinic was created. In 1994 Carole moved to Toronto to continue her practice. Her daughter Rosemary moved the Salon and Day Spa to its present location at 383 King Street West. She and Kathy along with a talented and dedicated team continued to serve their clients with the same high standards of service and quality in a welcoming atmosphere. In 2012 Kathy left to attend Loyalist College to studying nursing.

In 2025, Rosemary proudly embraced her Canadian roots by replacing the U.S.-made Merle Norman cosmetics line with the Canadian-made Pure Anada cosmetics and the Italian skincare line Vagheggi. Both brands are known for their commitment to organic ingredients and environmentally conscious practices, aligning with The Beauty Clinic's dedication to quality and sustainability.
